Know Who to Follow: Best Inspirational Social Media Accounts

Tired of scrolling through memes, models, and posed lunches? Social Media doesn’t have to feel monotonous and meaningless, you just have to follow the right people.

The best celebrity or sports star Instagram accounts are both motivational and accessible; instead of flaunting a high-end lifestyle, they keep it real by genuinely relating to their audience and providing little bits of inspiration everyday. After all, with the amount of time we all spend on our phones consuming other people’s lives, Social Media posts should help brighten your day instead of drain it.

Be more selective with who you follow, and why you follow them.

Here are a few celebrities, professional athletes, and inspirational speakers who have engaging and uplifting social content every day:

Ben Malcolmson - @benmalcolmson

Author, speaker, and mentor figure, Ben Malcolmson has been the Special Assistant to Coach Pete Carroll for the Seattle Seahawks for the past eight years. He first met Coach Carroll when he was a newspaper reporter for USC's Daily Trojan and then, three years later, accidentally earned a roster spot as wide receiver on the 2006 Rose Bowl Champion football team. After his one fairytale season ended, he became Director of Online Media for USC Football, where he created and managed the groundbreaking online presence for the Trojans as well as PeteCarroll.com and was a contributing writer for Sports Illustrated, The Associated Press, USA Today, and The Dallas Morning News. Ben currently shares his unfathomable story to churches, youth groups, businesses, schools, and anyone else who desires to be inspired to discover their purpose.

Shortly thereafter, in 2011, they adopted their second daughter, Truly. And in 2013, their son August was born and came home to be theirs. Heather currently resides in Southern California where between oatmeal making, diaper changing and dance parties she shares her heart by putting words on paper and using her hit Instagram account @macymakesmyday, to share the awesomeness of all things Down syndrome and adoption. She cares fiercely for the underdog and believes God's goodness and beauty are found in the most seemingly uncomfortable places.
