ESPN’s E:60 latest episode provides an insider look on Jake Olson, former blind long snapper for the USC Trojans, and his inspirational story.
Shelley Smith, who has documented Jake’s story since 2007, narrates Jake’s journey to becoming USC’s blind long snapper.
This E:60 Piece gives an in-depth perspective of the courage, determination, and passion that drove Jake’s career as a Trojan football player. Highlighting Jake’s first snap against Western Michigan, Jake says, “This is a competitive game, and I'm a competitor. I like to prove myself and others that just because I can’t see, doesn’t mean that I’m not gonna play football.”
Jake carries this attitude- “to always compete”- into all aspects of his life, including his golf game and the entrepreneurial space.
On co-founding a new company, Jake says, “I’m excited to grow our new company, Engage. It is a platform that allows consumers to connect with talent not only through speaking engagements but through experiences.”
As Shelley Smith concludes, this is only the beginning of Jake Olson’s journey. Watch ESPN’s Full Feature on Jake Olson here.
