Jake Olson joins The Paul Finebaum Show
Los Angeles, CA - July 1st, 2021 - Jake Olson, President, and Co-Founder of Engage, was on The Paul Finebaum Show to talk about NIL, compensation for student-athletes, and what is to come for student-athletes in the future.
Jake Olson discusses the reasons why compensating college athletes through scholarships is simply not enough anymore.
When asked about the possibility of losing interest from fans because of the new laws and the ability for student-athletes to make money, Olson responded with this, “I think it opens up the door for more engagement...I love your store, therefore I want to take a picture with you at the airport, I want to shake your hand after a speech.”
Olson continues by talking about the opportunities that this allows for student-athletes. He goes further by discussing how this allows fans to really get to know who the student-athlete is through social engagements or understand the brands that the student-athletes love.
Jake Olson finished the interview by debunking possible myths about how NIL is going to separate teams. Although the backup long snapper, Olson was able to be successful during his time at USC.
