Alex Smith is a former professional football player and quarterback in the NFL. Smith played college football at the University of Utah where he was the 2004 Mountain West Conference Player of the Year. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Smith with the number one overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. Throughout his 16-year NFL career, Smith has been a consistent performer as a starting quarterback for the 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Washington Football team and was selected as a Pro Bowl quarterback three times.

Alex battled with injuries his entire career, most recently in the 2018 season when he experienced a devastating leg injury that required major surgery and sidelined him for the rest of the season. Smith returned to the field in 2020 where he led the Washington Football team to an NFC East Division title while simultaneously being named NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Through his experiences leading multiple winning teams in the NFL, Smith has developed into a desirable keynote speaker on dealing with anxiety, adversity, self-doubt, and fear. He has motivated audiences of all kinds to understand the power of believing in oneself and focusing on what is in your control. Without these key notions, Smith’s career would have never taken off and he would not be the well-known NFL star that he has become. Book Smith today for an in-person or virtual engagement with your sales staff, university’s student body, or company’s executive team for an unforgettable lesson on leadership.
