Maarten Paes is a goalkeeper for FC Dallas in Major League Soccer. The 23 year-old Dutchman is on loan from FC Utrecht, a first division side in the Netherlands. Maarten rose through the academy at NEC Nijmegen into their senior squad before signing with Utrecht in 2018. FC Dallas acquired Maarten on a six-month loan ahead of the 2022 season, and he has quickly established himself as the starter with a chance to make the move to MLS permanent. Maarten has also represented the Netherlands at the U-19, U-20, and U-21 levels.
Off the pitch, Maarten is very entrepreneurial and a member of the Baller Syndicate. A group of footballers and investors teaming up to invest in tech companies, the Baller Syndicate leverages the profile of its athletes to enhance both their investments as well as their own brand.
