I'm Paris Prynkiewicz, and I'm the Creator & Host of the Crooked Illness Podcast. I initially launched the podcast in January of 2020 to feature my story related to struggling with and overcoming challenges with bipolar disorder to inspire, educate and motivate others. I share how I went from struggling inside the walls of a psychiatric hospital at 19 upon receiving my bipolar diagnosis to working in the behavioral health field, at the very same clinic I was once a patient at, at 23. I use these two perspectives to illustrate how I have seen the stigma related to mental health challenges within myself and within others and to share the ways I have stripped this stigma away and how others can do this as well.
Since then, this platform has become an exclusive place that is 100% dedicated to bringing more conversations to the table surrounding topics of mental health and mindset. I love to speak about the tools that enabled me to successfully recover, move forward, and use my story and experiences as a message to help others. I am an active volunteer and advocate with NAMI VOS (National Alliance on Mental Illness, Valley of the Sun) and Rethink Mental Health Incorporated.
