David Long is an NFL linebacker for the Miami Dolphins. He formerly played for the Tennessee Titans. He attended West Virginia where he earned a spot on the College Football All-American team known for his ability to stop the run. Long was drafted in the 6th round of the 2019 NFL Draft due to his shorter stature and injured ankle. Neither of those obstacles has proven to be immovable, though, as Long has found early success in his professional career. As a kid, Long learned how to be resilient. He was hit by a car while on the back of a bike his older brother was riding. Although he suffered both head and arm injuries, he overcame the unexpected, deadly incident and continued to follow his dream of being in the NFL.
