Dr. Genevieve “Gen” Dobson is a student loan expert, debt management specialist, three-time author, speaker, and coach. She is the owner of Degrees of Success which was named the Best Credit Repair company in 2020, and the Best of Tampa for Debt Management in 2019 and in 2013. In 2015 Degrees of Success was the finalist for Best in Biz, Grassroots Marketing. In 2014 Dobson was nominated for Woman of the Year.
She has been working in the student loan industry since 2005 including consolidation processes, loan disbursements, and loan management consulting. Dobson saw the need of those who were suffering from student loans without having an expert to turn to that would ensure they made the right decisions. Dr. Dobson’s goal is to ensure that everyone can get the help they need to manage their loans which is why she began Degrees of Success in 2010.
Dobson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended high school in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). Dobson also has a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from the University of South Florida. Dobson and her company, Degrees of Success formed a financial empowerment seminar series called “Stress 2 Success: Financial Empowerment Series” that has been presented at various arenas throughout the United States with key experts from the debt management and wealth-building industries. She also travels all over the US going to various schools to talk to students about making good choices regarding their student loans to ensure they are successful.
