Javon Hargrave plays defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. He formerly played for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft and played his first four NFL seasons in the Steel City. After 4 years and 14.5 sacks with the Steelers, Hargrave signed a three-year contract with the Eagles. In his first season with Philadelphia, he recorded 4.5 sacks and 38 tackles. In 2021, he became the first Eagles defensive tackle to record six or more sacks during the first seven games of a season since 1995. Hargrave went to college at South Carolina State, where he started in all 47 of the games he played and was a two-time AP All-American. He was born and raised in Salisbury, North Carolina.
