Jayla Oden is a sophomore guard for the Illinois women's basketball team. She's from Baltimore, Maryland where she was a two-sport athlete playing basketball and running track and field. In high school, she was ranked the 33-point guard in the class of 2021 by ESPN as well as a three-star recruit. She was a McDonald All-American in 2021 and took home Gatorade player of the year as well in Maryland. As a freshman in college, she played in 23 games while logging 5 starts. She led the team in assists, finishing with 55, and ended up with five games in double-digit scoring. Now a sophomore, Oden looks to build on a great freshman year.
