At 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds, Massey is a very athletic hurler that oozes projection. His mid 90s fastball has touched 98 and pairs well with a breaking ball that can be a genuine strikeout pitch at the next level. The Chicago native attended Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep where he was a four-year starter and two-time captain for the Eagles. J.P.’s raw stuff is starting to turn into good results this season as he looks to gain momentum heading into the 2022 MLB draft.
