Dr. Steve Albrecht is a popular and internationally-known keynote speaker and webinar presenter. Dr. Albrecht is one of the country's leading experts on workplace violence school violence prevention and library safety and security. He manages to make difficult business and HR subjects - security, workplace violence, and the need to protect employees - enlightening, engaging, and even entertaining. His sessions are tool-based, empowering, and not designed to scare business people into compliance but show them how, where, and why they need to keep their employees and their facilities safe. His background as a law enforcement officer and a threat management expert helps him bring some unique and dramatic stories to the presenter's stage.
In 1994, he co-wrote Ticking Bombs, one of the first business books on the subject of workplace violence. He has interviewed three workplace murderers in prison. He continues to write, speak, and train on workplace violence, school violence, and domestic violence in the workplace. He continues to speak and train on the value of Threat Assessment Teams and the safety and security of all employees. He holds a doctorate in Business Administration, an MA in Security Management, a BS in Psychology, and a BA in English. He is board-certified in HR, security management, employee coaching, and threat management. Steve worked for the San Diego Police Department for 15 years, as a supervisor and Domestic Violence investigator. He has written 24 books on business, security, and criminal justice subjects.
