Taylor Jett (she/they) is and has always strived to be a voice for the underdog. Independently driven and justice oriented, they have built their career carrying the mindset of “the role of the artist is make the revolution irresistible (Toni Cade Bambara)”.

Jett is a graduate of Emerson College, where they studied Television Production with every intention of increasing meaningful representation of Black, queer and other historically marginalized folks on screen. After moving across the country for internships at Viacom and NBCUniversal’s Oxygen Network, she then spent almost 3 years working as an assistant in the Television Literary and Motion Picture departments of Creative Artists Agency. Upon leaving CAA, Jett got their official start in production working on HBO’s LOVECRAFT COUNTRY under Showrunner, Misha Green. After which, they landed at Netflix on the Original Series Content team where they spent a year on the Young Adult team, coordinating for Hollywood’s largest overall deal to date, and then transitioned to US Original Series Drama team.

Now serving as BLD PWR Productions’ Director of Development, they are most eager to finally marry entertainment and activism in ways many companies have shied away from. They are proudly committed to finding and producing stories that question our status quos and/or allow systemically targeted communities to sit in a light rarely afforded to them.

As the oldest of 3, self-proclaimed artist-advocate, founder of The Reclaiming Series (an organization to uplift women/nonbinary folks of color new to the entertainment industry) and former Junior Board Member of Young Entertainment Activists, Jett is personally passionate about disrupting the ways "things have always been done" in efforts to amplify the voice and work of those often overlooked, devalued or discarded.
