Mr. Vineet Nayar is an Indian author, business executive, and social change leader. He served as the CEO of HCL Technologies from 2007-2013, authored the critically acclaimed management book Employees First, Customers Second: Turning Conventional Management Upside Down, and is the founder and current CEO of Sampark Foundation.
During Nayar's tenure as HCL Technologies CEO, he oversaw the growth of its revenues and market cap by six times. Prior to his tenure at HCL, Nayar founded Comet and grew it into a billion-dollar leader in the Technology Management industry. As the CEO of Sampark Foundation, Nayar has overseen initiatives pertaining to the mission of "innovation-led large scale social change." in 2021, Sampark was responsible for transforming the learning outcomes of more than 10 million children studying in 84,000 schools in Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh.
Nayar has earned numerous honors over the course of his career, including being named to the Thinkers 50 List in 2011-12, being selected for Fortune Magazine's 'Executive Dream Team' in 2011, and being included on Foreign Policy Magazine's Global Thinkers List in 2016.
