I’m Alex. I have ADHD. In fact, back in 1990, I was one of the first 40 recorded people to be diagnosed and treated for ADHD in the UK. I’ve rarely not known what it’s like to have ADHD.
I’m also a registered therapist, certified coach, and Mental Health First Aid Instructor. A pretty powerful combination!
After an early career in TV and film production, I soon realized where my real focus lay, and changed tack to train and work as a psychotherapist, qualified and practiced as a private therapist, then co-founded a successful wellbeing consultancy (Inhouse Wellbeing). ADHD Alex has been born from all this experience – personal and professional, and the lightbulb moment that what I truly wanted to do was help both individuals and organizations change their narrative on ADHD.
So I’m a qualified coach and therapist, but I also just ‘get it’. I won’t judge and you won’t have to explain everything. I’m a professional ally who knows how the brain works (the science bit) but also how it feels (the human bit). Having learned to harness my own ADHD strengths, I want to help everyone – those with ADHD, their family, and employers – understand how you too can work with the marvelous ADHD brain to great personal and professional success.
