Ben Lively is a professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians. A right-hander standing 6'4" and weighing 235 pounds, Lively played college baseball at the University of Central Florida (UCF) before being selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the fourth round of the 2013 MLB Draft. He made his MLB debut with the Philadelphia Phillies on June 3, 2017, and has since pitched for the Phillies, Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, and Cleveland Guardians. Over his career, he has accumulated a 23–29 record with a 4.38 ERA and 306 strikeouts in 83 games (70 starts). In 2024, Lively had a career-best season, posting a 13–10 record with a 3.81 ERA across 29 starts for the Guardians. However, in May 2025, he was diagnosed with a right forearm strain and later underwent Tommy John surgery and flexor tendon repair, which are expected to sideline him for 12 to 18 months.
