Bobby Hurley is a basketball coach and former player. Currently the head coach of the Arizona State Sun Devils men’s basketball team, Hurley was previously the head coach of the University of Buffalo men’s basketball team. Before entering the coaching ranks, Hurley was an All-American player at Duke Universitiy, winning consecutive national championships and leaving as the NCAA all-time leader in assists, as well as Duke’s single-game assist leader. His number 11 was also retired by Duke in 1993. After graduating from Duke, Hurley was selected 7th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 1993 NBA Draft and would go on to play six seasons in the NBA for the Sacramento Kings and Vancouver Grizzlies. Hurley got his start in coaching as an assistant coach at Wagner College, before joining his younger brother Dan’s coaching staff as an associate head coach at the University of Rhode Island. Hurley then became the head coach at Buffalo before accepting the same position at Arizona State.
