Two-time Super Bowl champion Anthony “Booger” McFarland is an NFL analyst for ESPN. Previously an ESPN and SEC Network college football analyst, McFarland has been widely praised for his football insights and gregarious persona. He also regularly contributes to SportsCenter, Get Up!, ESPN Radio and more.

 

McFarland was named to the Monday Night Football broadcast team in May 2018. He joined Joe Tessitore and Jason Witten for the 49th season of MNF as the signature series’ first-ever on-field analyst.

 

One of the SEC Network’s first commentators, McFarland joined the company in 2014 for the launch of ESPN’s multiplatform network devoted to the Southeastern Conference. In 2017, McFarland transitioned to the ESPN on ABC college football team as a studio analyst, paired with Kevin Negandhi and Mack Brown.

 

The No. 15 overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1999 NFL Draft, McFarland played nine NFL seasons with the Buccaneers (1999-2006) and Indianapolis Colts (2005-06). He helped anchor Tampa’s menacing defense and was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams – SB XXXVII (Tampa) and XLI (Indianapolis). During his nearly decade-long career, McFarland played 109 games, amassing 188 tackles and 22.5 sacks.

 

Before joining ESPN, McFarland co-hosted a popular Tampa area sports radio show on 98.7 The Fan from 2012-14.

 

A native of Winnsboro, La., McFarland was a First-Team All-American and All-SEC defensive tackle. He played for the Tigers from 1995-98 and graduated from LSU in 1999 with a degree in business management.
