Brandon Hyde is an American professional baseball manager for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball. A native of Santa Rosa, California, Hyde played college baseball at Cal State Long Beach before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago White Sox. He played as a catcher and a first baseman in his four seasons with the White Sox organization. Hyde began his coaching career in the Florida Marlins organization. Eventually, he would serve as a bench coach and, for a day, interim manager of the Marlins. After nine years with the Marlins Hyde headed to the Chicago Cubs, and spent the 2014-2018 seasons with the Cubs as a bench coach, director of player development, and first base coach. He was named the Orioles manager ahead of the 2019 season.
