As a senior at Riverside High School, Grice was named the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year. Grice earned freshman All-American and second-team All-ACC honors in 2021 after hitting .317 with 15 home runs and 53 RBI. He led the Tigers in runs (40), homers, RBI, total bases (115), slugging percentage (.618), on-base percentage (.427) and multiple-RBI games (14). He also earned the Mitchell Award, which is given to the team's most valuable player.
His 2022 season has been up and down, but his value to the team remains unmistakable. His 2022 season has featured 12 home runs including one during a standout performance against Boston College. Caden's goal, in his words, is simply "helping his team win", but among the sportsmanship comes a drive to play at the pro level in the MLB.
