Chris Broussard is a sports analyst and commentator on Fox Sports 1 and is well known for his coverage of the NBA. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Broussard moved many times as a child, but graduated high school from Holy Name High School in a suburb of Cleveland where he excelled as a football and basketball player, even being enshrined into the school’s hall of fame. After high school, Chris would go on to attend Oberlin College, which he would graduate from in 1990.
That same year Broussard began a career in sports, as he started as a sports writer for The Plain Dealer. He would then begin covering the NBA for the Akron Beacon Journal four years later, serving as the beat writer for the Cleveland Cavaliers as well. In 1998 he began working for the New York Times, covering the New Jersey Nets and the New York Knicks.
Chris later moved to ESPN in 2004, writing for ESPN The Magazine and appearing on shows as an insider and analyst for the NBA. He has since appeared on shows such as First Take and NBA Countdown.
In 2016, Broussard would transition from ESPN to Fox Sports 1, serving as a panelist on Skip and Shannon: Undisputed, The Herd, and First Things First, among others. In August of 2021, Broussard took over as host for First Things First, and he is currently still with Fox Sports 1.
