Clinton Yates is a columnist, television commentator, and host for ESPN, recognized for his insightful commentary on sports, culture, and race. He joined ESPN in February 2016 as part of the editorial team that launched Andscape, the Black multimedia content studio formerly known as The Undefeated. Yates has contributed across ESPN's platforms, appearing on television programs such as Around the Horn and Outside the Lines, and serving as a panelist and guest host on E:60. He also co-hosts ESPN's official Star Wars podcast, Never Tell Me the Odds, alongside Arda Ocal and Ryan McGee. In March 2024, Yates was named host of the ESPN Daily podcast, further expanding his presence within the network.
Before his tenure at ESPN, Yates spent nine years at The Washington Post, where he covered local news, sports, politics, and pop culture. He began as a local news editor for "Express," the Post's free daily publication, and eventually contributed to the "DC Sports Bog" on the sports desk. A native of Washington, D.C., Yates is an alumnus of Miami University in Ohio.
