Cole Kmet is an NFL football player for the Chicago Bears, serving as their lead tight end. Growing up in Illinois, Kmet attended St. Viator High School where he was a two-sport athlete in baseball and football. His senior season, Cole hauled in 48 receptions for 773 yards and four touchdowns, later playing in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He then committed to the University of Notre Dame.

He continued playing both baseball and football for the Fighting Irish. On the football field Kmet took over as the starting tight end his junior year, but suffered a broken collarbone, impacting his season. On the baseball field, Kmet appeared in 26 games as a freshman relief pitcher, and then in 8 games his sophomore season before suffering an arm injury.

He entered the 2020 NFL Draft and was considered a top tight end prospect, with CBS Sports even ranking him as the best in his class. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round and signed a four year rookie deal. His first touchdown in the NFL came against the Carolina Panthers in a 23-16 victory in his rookie season, and his 2021 season is proving to be a breakout year.
