Dominic Smith

Dominic Smith is a first baseman / left fielder for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball. The SoCal native committed to play college baseball at USC but he signed with the Mets after they drafted him in the first round of the 2013 MLB Draft. Smith worked his way up through the minors for the next few years and was promoted to the majors in 2017, making his debut vs the Phillies on August 11, 2017. Smith’s breakout year came in 2019 and he built on that in the shortened 2020 season when he batted .316/.377/.616 with 21 doubles, 10 home runs and 42 RBIs in only 177 ABs. He finished 13th in National League MVP voting and earned a nomination for the Hank Aaron Award (given to the best offensive player in each league).
