Donovan Wilson is a safety for the Dallas Cowboys football franchise in the NFL. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Wilson attended Woodlawn High School where he excelled in football. His senior year, Wilson would receive the Shreveport Defensive Player of the Year award, as well as Class 4A All-State honors.
Wilson then went on to play college football for the Texas A&M Aggies, where he started as a freshman in the 2014 Liberty Bowl and paced the team in tackles, with 9. The next season, Wilson would start 7 games as a defensive back, tallying up 63 tackles, five interceptions, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. Clearly one of the standout defensive players in the country, Wilson would unfortunately suffer a season-ending ankle injury the following year but return for a strong redshirt senior season.
He was then selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, where he currently plays today. He starts for the Cowboys at strong safety.
