Isaiah Stewart II is a professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons in the NBA. In New York, Stewart attended McQuaid Jesuit High School where he would excel in basketball. His freshman year in high school, Steward stood at 6 feet 7 inches. Coming out of high school, Steward would be a five-star recruit ranking among the top prospects in the 2019 draft class. He received McDonald’s All-American honors and was even named Mr. Basketball USA, as well as Naismith Prep Player of the Year. 

 

Steward had basketball offers from  Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, and Syracuse, among others, and in 2019, he committed to play for the Washington Huskies. After his freshman year at Washington, Stewart was named to the All-Pac-12 first team, as well as the Freshman Team. He would then declare for the 2020 NBA Draft, where he was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers.

 

In November of 2020, Steward was traded as part of a package to the Houston Rockets, who then traded him to the Detroit Pistons, where he would sign in December of 2020. He currently plays for the Pistons as their starting center.
