As a senior at Riverside High School, Grice was named the South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, as much for his low 90s stuff as a dominant left-handed pitcher as it was for his ability to mash at the plate. Grice brought his array of talents to Clemson where, as a freshman in 2021, he led the team in home runs, RBI, slugging and total bases. He also mixed in 10 innings on the mound, striking out 14. His big year at the plate in 2021 earned Caden First-Team Freshman All-American Honors, an All-ACC Freshman selection, and the Mitchell Award, given to the team’s most valuable player. Grice is focused on his prowess as a position player in 2022, entering the season as one of the premier power hitters in all of college baseball. The 6-foot-6 slugger looks to lead Clemson through ACC play this year and into the postseason before entering the draft as a true power bat capable of impacting any MLB lineup.
