Jeff Garcia has built a life defined by perseverance, passion, and purpose. Known for overcoming the odds, Jeff has consistently led with heart on the field, in the community, and throughout his life. His success stems not from physical advantages but from a relentless work ethic, fierce determination, and a mindset shaped by personal loss early in life, having lost both his younger brother and sister before the age of nine. Those tragedies forged a deep respect for life, fueling his competitive spirit and empathy for others.
A 17-year professional football career—highlighted by four NFL Pro Bowl selections, over 40,000 passing yards, and playoff runs with three different NFL teams—only tells part of the story. Jeff was undrafted, overlooked as "not big enough, not strong enough, not fast enough." Yet he went on to set records with the San Francisco 49ers, including a single-season passing yardage mark and three straight seasons with over 3,000 passing yards—still unmatched in franchise history. Before that, he was a four-time CFL All-Star and Grey Cup MVP with the Calgary Stampeders.
Jeff's journey began in Gilroy, California, where he starred in three sports before finding his true passion in football. From standout performances at Gavilan College and San Jose State to an MVP comeback in the East-West Shrine Game, Jeff always let his play speak louder than the doubters.
Off the field, he has channeled his accomplishments into meaningful impact. Through his Garcia Pass It On Foundation and personal contributions, Jeff has helped fund scholarships, support shelters for abused children, back cancer research and the Ronald McDonald House, and upgrade athletic facilities at his alma maters. Millions of dollars have been directed toward causes close to the Garcia family’s heart.
Now, Jeff mentors the next generation of quarterbacks at his QB Academy, passing on the knowledge, drive, and grit that defined his path. He lives in North San Diego with his four children—Presley, Jason, Jax, and Faith—leading by example as both a father and a lifelong competitor who never stopped believing in the power of heart over hype.
