Joey Baker is a Forward for the University of Michigan basketball team, transferring to the Wolverines following the 2021-2022 season. Joey formerly played basketball for the Duke Blue Devils. Poised for a breakout season at Michigan, Joey is coming off a year in which he was a captain for the Blue Devils, he cemented himself as a favorite with Duke's Cameron Crazies, earning the nickname "Joey Buckets" in the process. Joey was a regular contributor off the bench in his four years with the Blue Devils, he scored his first college points as a freshman in the 2019 NCAA Tournament after being activated to replace an injured Zion Williamson. The Fayetteville, NC native was a 4-star recruit out of the Trinity Christian School, where he reclassified from the class of 2019 to the class of 2018. Despite that, he was on pace to be salutatorian of his 2019 high school class and remained the No. 3 prospect in North Carolina even after reclassifying. Joey will provide both steady play and veteran leadership for Duke in his senior season. During Joey's career at Duke he has played in 34 games, averaging 4.5 points on .432 from the field and .405 from three-point range.
