Joey Gerber is an American professional pitcher currently in the Tampa Bay Rays organization. Drafted in the eighth round of the 2018 MLB Draft out of the University of Illinois, Gerber made his MLB debut with the Seattle Mariners in August 2020. Over his rookie season, he appeared in 17 games, going 1–1 with a 4.02 ERA and 6 strikeouts in 15.2 innings. After missing the 2021 season due to back surgery and undergoing Tommy John surgery in mid-2022, he signed a minor-league deal with the Yankees and rebounded in 2024—posting a 2.43 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 33.1 innings across four levels. In December 2024, he signed with the Rays, where he currently pitches at the Triple-A level.
