John Anderson is an anchor on the Emmy-award-winning show SportsCenter, ESPN’s flagship TV series, and a former co-host of the reality hit show Wipeout on ABC. Anderson is from Green Bay, Wisconsin, and an alum of the University of Missouri. Before joining ESPN, Anderson was a weekend sports anchor from 1996 to 1999 in Phoenix and Tulsa during the late 1980s. In 2013, Anderson was ESPN’s cover man for the ING New York City Marathon with Hannah Storm. Anderson has won many awards for his reporting, including the Bill Teegins Excellence in Sportscasting Award in 2011, Outstanding Sports Feature Reporting Award from the Oklahoma Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Associated Press Television Award in 1997. Anderson also enjoys writing, as he and golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez, Chi Chi's Golf Games You Gotta Play, helps readers with their golf skills and how to enjoy the game in various ways. Away from reporting, Anderson and his wife, Tamara, started the Anderson Family Charitable Foundation in 2013. The Anderson Family Charitable Foundation helps many underprivileged children with school supplies and food.
