Julian Okwara is a professional football player for the Cleveland Browns. He formerly played for the Detroit Lions. The Lions drafted him in the third round of the 2020 draft. Julian spent four years at the University of Notre Dame and appeared in 45 career games. For his career, Okwara totaled 77 tackles (46 solo), 23 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two INTs, and four forced fumbles. Playing in all 13 games as a junior in 2018, Okwara registered 12.5 tackles for loss, which led the team, and also recorded 8.0 sacks, which was tied for the team lead. Okwara was born in Nigeria and moved to the United States as a third grader where his family made Charlotte, N.C,. home. He attended Ardkey Kell High School and was selected for the North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl as a senior in 2015. Julian's older brother also plays for the Lions.
