Almario “Mario" Vernard Chalmers is an American basketball phenomenon out of Anchorage, Alaska. Chalmers joined the NBA after attending The University of Kansas. In 2008, Chalmers led Kansas to a National Championship being the first time in 20 years the school won a basketball national championship. Skipping his senior season, Chalmers was drafted to the NBA by the Miami Heat. 

The starting point guard won back-to-back championships with Miami heat in 2012 and 2013. Chalmers was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2015 and competed two seasons for them before going overseas to continue his basketball career. 

As a way to give back, in 2010 Mario formed the Mario V. Chambers Foundation to create and support community-based programs that encourage the positive development of youth through sports and education and fund initiatives for breast cancer awareness. 

Mario recently completed a season in the G League playing for Sioux Falls. His high IQ for the game and experience winning championships at the highest level, has made him a good mentor for his younger teammates trying to land a spot on an NBA roster. Chalmers continues his career today playing in the Big3.
