Mercedes Russell is a WNBA center for the Los Angeles Sparks. She formerly played for the Seattle Storm. She was drafted in 2018 as the 22nd overall pick by the New York Liberty. She went to the University of Tennessee playing for the Lady Volunteers. In high school, Russell was named Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year. After joining the Storm in her rookie season, Russell helped bring the team to the WNBA Championship where she brought home the trophy.
