Mitch Torrel is an expert in driving teams to solve the world's most complex problems. In 2018, he stunned the world by successfully rescuing 12 children and their coach from a flooded cave in northern Thailand. A feat many experts said was impossible. As the on-scene commander for the operation, he planned and executed a rescue operation that incorporated 17 countries and over five thousand volunteers. Mitch was the last soul out of the flooded cave and has since been featured in National Geographic's "The Rescue" and several other films, mini-series, and books depicting the unprecedented operation. 

 

Mitch spent a decade commanding the most decorated special operations teams in USSOCOM and enabling them to conduct combat and humanitarian operations across the globe. He is a naturally charismatic storyteller who can hold his audience captive by using stories to demonstrate his signature tenets.

When a youth soccer team became trapped deep inside a flooded cave in Thailand, international experts, divers, and volunteers rallied together for their rescue. Over 15 countries and thousands of volunteers flooded to help. Despite immense challenges, including treacherous conditions and limited resources, the operation demonstrated extraordinary coordination across cultural and linguistic divides. Mitch was the operations officer and on-scene commander for the rescue operation. His collaborative efforts led to the successful evacuation of all 12 boys and their coach, showcasing the power of unity, perseverance, and collective action in an unprecedented rescue.
