Robert Griffin III is a former NFL quarterback and football analyst for ESPN. He was born in Okinawa, Japan, where his parents were stationed as US Army Sergeants. His family settled in Copperas Cove, Texas, where Griffin III became a three-sport high school athlete in football, basketball, and track.
In 2008, Griffin III committed to Baylor University, where he would play football and run track. He started 11 of 12 games for the Bears as a true freshman, where he earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors. After an impressive college career, Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy in 2011, becoming the first student-athlete from Baylor to win the award. Griffin III was selected second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders.
