Gorden has been one of the most outspoken, active pro athletes in the wake of police brutality and racial injustice protests, which led to her founding of HoodSpace Chi, a place where girls of color can create healing outlets through meditation, yoga and sport. The programming gives girls empowering spaces and teaches them mindfulness techniques and coping strategies.

Sarah Gorden is in her first season with Angel City FC after being acquired from the Chicago Red Stars last December. She spent the first six seasons of her NWSL career with Chicago, and last season, she became their first Iron Woman, playing every minute of the 2021 season, including the championship game. Internationally, Gorden was called up to the United States National Team twice, in late 2019 and 2020. She was drafted by Chicago with the second pick in the third round of the 2016 NWSL College Draft draft, becoming the first DePaul player to be drafted into the NWSL. She played in all 20 matches during her senior season and earned AllBig East First-Team honors. At DePaul, she was a dual-sport athlete in soccer and track-and-field while being a three-time member of the BIG EAST Conference All-Academic Team.

Off the field, Sarah loves fashion and expresses herself through style and modeling. She also loves her mindfulness routine, yoga, and being a soccer mom at her son's games. In her spare time, she's busy fighting for social justice.
