For six years Bill Young was employed at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center by Chenega Security and Support Solutions, where he served as Assistant Chief of Operations and Commander of their Emergency Response Team. Previously he served with the Pennsylvania State Police for over 2 decades where he supervised various units including patrol, criminal investigations, and special operations. He spent 19 years as a member of, and eventually Commander of the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team West. Bill also served as the commanding officer of Troop A where he led five state police installations in four counties. Bill has served as the Vice President of the Pennsylvania Tactical Officer’s Association (PATOA) and as the Tactical Command Section Chair for the National Tactical Officer’s Association (NTOA).

 

He holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership as well as bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Information Systems. He is a Graduate of the 245th Session of the FBI National Academy and has received recognition for his work in law enforcement and security by the United States Congress, The Pennsylvania House of Representatives, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, NASA, and various public safety groups from around the United States. He has also received awards for his work against violent crime, and domestic violence, and is certified as an Emotional Intelligence Coach.

 

Throughout his career, Bill has developed and delivered training curriculum and seminars for thousands of police officers including topics on: Leadership and Decision-Making, Response to Active Assailants, Critical Incident Management, High Risk Warrant Service, Hostage Barricade Resolution, and other life-saving courses. Bill has authored several articles on leadership and has also developed “The Seven C’s of Organizational Change©, an organizational change model that builds trust, and brings about impactful change among teams, organizations and their communities. This model has been used to improve performance by law enforcement and security teams across the U.S.
